Samsung Galaxy S5

Hi guys I am back with another sizzling tech news on Samsung Galaxy S5 with Gear. An awesome phone with great features. The price is quite high but it worth it.

Samsung Galaxy S5 Launch

Once a year, Samsung takes some of its best material and slaps it together into a premium flagship model called the Galaxy S. While 2014 version the Samsung Galaxy S5 came a bit earlier in the year than some earlier iterations, we’re no less excited to see it become the star of the show at Mobile World Congress. The new device will ship in April (on stage, Samsung specifically mentioned that it launches on April 11th in 150 markets), although exact pricing and availability are still unknown. It features a refreshed design language, yet anyone who has used a GS phone recently will immediately recognize it as a Samsung flagship.

Samsung Galaxy S5 Introduction

So, the Samsung Galaxy S5 is said to pack a 5.0″ SuperAMOLED display with 1080p resolution, not much of an upgrade over its predecessor.

The handset comes with a little bit bigger display of 5.1-inch FHD Super AMOLED sporting a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, with a quad-core processor clocked at 2.5GHz and 2GB of RAM. I’m not at all surprised as we heard over the past few weeks that it will come with 3GB of RAM, and possibly with a 4K display. Although some rumors might turn out to be correct which suggested the high-end model, that is, Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime with 4K resolution will launch some time after the Galaxy S5 Standard edition.

Anyway, coming over to see what it brings at the table. On the storage side, the handset comes with 16/32GB storage options with the ability to expand it via microSD card of up to 128GB. On the rear, it features an improved 16MP camera with HDR, Selective Focus, Virtual Tour Shot and more, as well as a 2.1MP front-facing camera.

Samsung does maintain the clockspeed advantage with a rare Snapdragon 800 chipset and while the fingerprint scanner was no surprise, the heart rate monitor certainly is.

Other features include a 2,800 mAh battery, WiFi: 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac , Bluetooth 4.0, USB: USB 3.0, NFC, IR Remote and runs Android 4.4.2 KitKat pre-installed out of the box. The handset is also IP 67 certified making it dust and water-resistant.

The latest Samsung Samsung Galaxy S5 comes with several useful sensors including the Heart rate monitor, fingerprint sensor, and many more. It will hit retail in a variety of colors, including charcoal Black, shimmery White, electric Blue and copper Gold

Touch Wiz was a bit of a surprise too. We got pumped up for a brand new flat version of Samsung’s custom UI, but the reality is closer to what we saw on the new Galaxy Pro tablets.

Samsung Galaxy S5 will come with a fingerprint sensor (who would have guessed!) and it will be embedded in the Home key. You will need to swipe your finger 8 times to record it and after that you will be able to unlock the Samsung Galaxy S5 with your fingerprint. You can also authorize PayPal payments with just a single swipe of your registered finger.

Finally, the Samsung Galaxy S5 will allegedly be water and dust proof. This means we are probably not getting an Active version as it was with the Samsung Galaxy S4.

Samsung says the back of the Samsung Galaxy S5 is “leather-like,” which basically means it’s a fancy-looking polycarbonate build. While the company already uses similar design language for the Galaxy Note 3 and Note 10.1 2014 edition, the look and feel is slightly different it’s not quite as soft as the new Notes, and its small dimples actually remind us of the original Nexus 7. Though the sides have a metallic finish, company reps confirmed they’re actually made from a blend of polycarbonate and glass fiber. Still, we’re more confident of the durability here than we were with many of Samsung’s previous Galaxy phones.
